Howard Schultz is a visionary man who personally invented the unique experience offered at each of the shops. And such experience keeps evolving over times. Now, Maxim's takes over and cut Hong Kong off the attachment to the global chain. Maybe, it can keep up with the food and service quality. After all, it has operated the local shops for ten years or on. But for sure, the disconnection will mean the Hong Kong shops will no longer be part of the on-going global evolution, which I find quite interesting.
In short, they will keep the brand name, but probably not the goodwill.
